Travel day, always feels a little weird to be up in the air this day, but it's Jack's birthday so we felt we'd be fine. Limo picked us up just before 4AM in zero temperatures and brisk wind ... SO ready to get to a warm place!
Mazatlan is warm but not large; our plane to Dallas was 2 & 3 seats across; the connection to Mazatlan was 1 & 2. Both flights uneventful, though the tight connection time didn't give Linda time to execute her plan to change into resort clothes.
Just as well! We arrived Mazatlan just as it started raining, and while it was warm by comparison, jeans were JUST FINE.
We were grateful that our room was available right away, we were able to get settled and nap a bit or work on menu planning/grocery list. But no one wanted to go to WalMart in the pouring rain (now thunder, lightning, and BUCKETS of rain coming down) so we decided to have dinner at the "better" restaurant. The storm broke for a bit and we were able to get there without getting drenched, and we enjoyed various pasta dishes.

Back to the room and we all just fell right over ... those pre-dawn pickups are rough!
